Running Champs

Description

Running Champs is a competitive track event designed to test the speed, stamina, endurance,
coordination and athletic ability of participants.

Rules and regulations

General rules
  1. All athletes must report on time for marshalling / call room.
  2. Competitors must wear proper sports uniform and shoes.
  3. Spikes may be allowed based on track and event guidelines.
  4. Athletes must line up in their assigned lanes and must not obstruct others.
  5. Starters’ command sequence is usually:
    “On your marks – Set – Go/Start Pistol”.
Track & Lane Rules
  1. The track must be standard 400m track or measured accurately.
  2. 200m and 400m: Athletes must remain in their assigned lanes throughout the race.
  3. 600m: Lane restrictions apply only until the break line, after which athletes may shift to the inner lane without obstructing others.
  4. Cutting across lanes or blocking may result in disqualification.
fINISH LINE RULES
  1. The athlete who first touches the finish line plane with torso is declared the winner.
  2. Diving or pushing near the finish line is not allowed.
  3. Official timing may include manual stopwatch or digital timing system.
  4. In case of tie, judges’ decision and photo finish (if available) will be used.
dISQUALIFICATION cONDITIONS

An athlete may be disqualified if they:

  1. Commit more than one false start.
  2. Step out of their lane (for lane-specific races).
  3. Physically obstruct or push another runner.
  4. Receive external assistance (chasing, pacing, or coaching on track).
  5. Fail to complete the race.
